The Alexander Technique

Hello …

I’m Amanda Shearman, Alexander Technique and cello teacher in Glasgow. Welcome to my website.

I first had Alexander Technique lessons over 20 years ago, and since then it has changed my life. As a professional cellist I developed a lot of tension and pain whilst playing so I began regular lessons. They enabled me to become aware of habitual patterns of tension, and then avoid those patterns. As a result I began to move in a much freer way.

Today, I enjoy performing and teaching more than ever, and as a fully qualified AT teacher I can help you to eliminate unnecessary tension wherever it occurs in your life, and so promote a sense of balance and wellbeing.
